2026-06-22 [CHF26] Weekly Wire #2 **Festival Participants:** Whoo Hoo! We start setting up the large tents one week from today (June 29th)! For those who set up their own exhibits, you can start setting up as early as one week from tomorrow (Tuesday the 30th). Here's what's in this message: * Draft Map and Schedule * Lunch Notes * Morning Gathering * Second Language Lapel Pins * Coordination Information * Dinner * Parking * Showers * Official Photographers * Vehicles in Park * In Case of Emergency * Firewood **Draft Map and Schedule** We need to send the map to the printer on Wednesday morning, so we need any feedback you have in a hurry. Here's the link to review it. [https://schedule.colonialheritage.org](https://schedule.colonialheritage.org) Be sure to notice the link to the "High-Resolution Map" so you see things more clearly. You also have one last **chance** to request changes for any presentations you have on the schedule, so please review that as well. **Lunch Note** This year we are encouraging all volunteers to bring your own cloth lunch sack or reusable bag. Come to the pavilion between 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM to pick up your lunch. Paper sacks will be available if needed. Bringing your own bag reduces waste and adds to our colonial atmosphere! Due to larger crowds this year, lunches will no longer be delivered by vehicle. Please coordinate with fellow volunteers or neighbors to pick up together. This also gives you the flexibility to pick up your lunch at whatever time best fits your schedule. If you are truly unable to come or arrange pickup, text Holly at 760-670-8832 and we will make arrangements for you. Thank you for your flexibility and for helping make this year's festival a success! Option for your consideration. Please send a representative from your group. We will also invoke the blessings of the Almighty with a group prayer. **Second Language Lapel Pins** If you signed up for a lapel pin to indicate that you speak a second language, please come to the main pavilion to find your tag. Please return the pin when you are done with all of your shifts. If **you** have not yet signed up for one but would like one, please sign up here by **this Wednesday (6/24/2026).** [Sign up for Second Language Pin](https://forms.gle/ptKxsA1xv8vpXQLH9) **Coordination Information** For most participants, this has not changed since the last time we sent this out, but just in case, here is your current coordination structure. \[individualized coordination information was inserted here\] **Thursday Night Potluck Dinner** Please come join us for the potluck dinner on Thursday, July 2nd at 6:30 pm at the west pavilion. If you are visiting from out of town, don't feel obligated to bring an item, but if it makes you feel more comfortable to bring something, there is a Smith's grocery store just a mile from the park (45 S State St, Orem). In past years, we've also held a pizza dinner at the bakehouse. Unfortunately, we've grown to the size where that is no longer workable, so dinner will be on your own for days other than Thursday. **Parking** There is a small amount of parking available in a grass (weeds) lot just south of the park and directly east of the Scera Pool parking lot. Here's a map to the exact location. [https://maps.app.goo.gl/ratwjvH8RJWDuDos7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ratwjvH8RJWDuDos7) You can park in this grass lot without a permit. DO NOT park in the Scera Pool parking lot under any circumstances. We have made arrangements for participant parking in the parking lot across the street to the south of the Scera Park and a bit east. Here's a link to the lot location: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/Kv1Zwsid6tT5EiWPA](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Kv1Zwsid6tT5EiWPA) To park in this lot, you should display the following permit on your dash. [Parking Permit PDF](https://drive.google.com/file/d/19o5QplAXEBb8qgvdf2gxAQ06D6d5dF_2/view?usp=drive_link) While you won't be towed for parking on the street or in the lot closer to the pavilion, we encourage you to park in this designated parking lot to free up the other spaces for our guests. **Beat the Heat at the Green Dragon!** Stop by the Green Dragon Tavern once or twice daily for a free electrolyte drink — because even colonial patriots need to stay hydrated! Bring your own period cup or pick one up for just $5 (that's our cost). **Showers** We are fortunate to have access to the showers at the Scera Pool, which is directly adjacent to the park. Here is the schedule of when participants are allowed to use the showers: | Day | Times | | :---- | :---- | | Wednesday, July 1: | 6:00 - 7:00 pm | | Thursday, July 2: | 7:00 - 9:00 am, 6:00 - 7:00 pm | | Friday, July 3: | 7:00 - 9:00 am, 6:00 - 7:00 pm | | Saturday, July 4: | 7:00 - 9:00 am, 6:00 - 7:00 pm | **Official Photographers** We are providing visible credentials for our official volunteer photographers and videographers this year. Here is what it looks like: ![Photographer Credential](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid9jHW7CVq406NizdD_kBJgMhyphenhyphenFTTDji8ImAQ0Rwbh-I2xSh4bUUe6Yfu01Oa-ysFr7SsCYEYDhYi-wJLytmxEWkLfTmeEMvbO5SHQQAJc69m0hr4S1DxPJhrMmXPE7buH0ULJmU8Yr1sOUckRJrOKMtVs7p7YdXsCqpSypCB9Mj9mtjaQOrgl4-SexsQ/s200/photographer.png) If you see someone with this credential, we hope you will cooperate as long as what they ask is not too disruptive. You should feel free to decline to be posed or to wear a clip-on mic, but if what they ask is not too disruptive, we hope you will cooperate. **Vehicles in Park** You are allowed to drive in to drop off equipment and to get set up. However, all vehicles must be off park grounds from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm on festival days. Also, PLEASE be very vigilant not to drive over sprinkler boxes. We must replace them when they break and they are EXPENSIVE. If possible, please have a spotter walk in front of your vehicle to be sure you are avoiding them. The boxes will probably be marked lawn flags during setup, but they will be gone buy take down. **In Case of Emergency** We will have police officers (some plain, some uniformed) on the premises If there is a life-threatening emergency, call 911. For less-urgent issues, call Holly White (760-670-8832) or Jeff Gardner (801-362-5443). They will both be on a group text thread with the police in the park and have radio contact with the welcome booths and other security personnel in the park. If you encounter a lost child and are not able to readily find thie parents, please take them to the nearest welcome table. The lost-and-found is at the gift shop. **Firewood** Wood is available for your fire needs at the festival. Boxes of firewood will be available for pickup at the Bakehouse. Try not to take more than you need. Thanks for all you do to advance the cause of liberty.
