Activities for Kids (and Adults)

Unlike many living history venues, the Colonial Heritage Festival invites children to touch objects and to engage in activities. Whether it's spinning wool into yarn, setting their name in type and printing a wanted poster, making a beeswax candle, or drilling and marching with the town militia, we want children to have a hands-on experience with the activities common during our nation's founding. Many of these experiences, designed to occupy young hands and fascinate young minds, are free, while some have a small fee to cover materials. Come see what a difference it makes to engage history with all your senses, rather than just reading about it in a textbook.
