Young Founders Living Museum
Each year, fifth-graders in the state of Utah have the opportunity to participate in a Wax Museum Project. This immersive biography research activity requires students to select a historical figure, research their life, create a costume, and perform a short, memorized monologue as a “living statue.” Students showcase their work through posters or research boxes, creating an interactive “night at the museum” experience for visitors. The Colonial Heritage Festival selects certain presentations that focus on individuals who lived in America during the 17th and 18th centuries to be delivered at the festival.
At the festival, small groups of selected students will work together to deliver a thirty-minute presentation where each person will deliver the prepared monologue and then take questions from the audience.
These links provide valuable information for the teachers, parents, and students involved in the program.
